Exo Terra Bamboo Forest Floor is a multi -layer substrate that allows you to recreate the ground as it is in natural bamboo forests. The forest land is a departed largest characteristics in the Bambusogen ecosystem. It usually consists of two layers:

1. The top layer that mostly consists of disgusting leaves.

2. The bottom layer consists of rich organic material - usually broken down leaves and branches

The top layer consists of sun -dried, decorative bamboo leaves from a durable resource. With this decorative race layer you actually create the soft ground you find in bamboo forests. The bamboo leaves provide a soft layer for the animals to dig and cover their secret hiding places.

Most reptiles and amphibians search the ground for food and water. The top layer covers the real substrate to promote the retaining water and prevent the soil from drying out. The biodegradable bamboo leaves are completely free of chemicals and can easily composting your garden.

The bottom layer consists of rich organic material from sustainable coconut scale fiber. It is a 100 % natural, organic and biodegradable substrate with excellent hygroscopic properties. This bottom layer is an ideal substrate for creating planted terrari environments for moisturizing reptiles, amphibians and invertebrate animals.

Its water preserving, natural root system hormones and fungal -opposing properties promote plant growth in your terrarium. The unique coconut marrow used in Exo Terra Bambo Forest Floor consists of a mixture of short fibers and coconut ore in barley that varies in size from coarse granulates to fine lumps that contribute to improved soil drainage and healthy aeration for the roots.

The top layer of bamboo leaves keeps the bottom layer slightly moist and facilitates maintenance by acting as a natural ecosystem where useful organisms break down waste products and thereby reduce bad smell.
