Bamboo Forest Habitat kit for reptiles and amphibians is a direct result of years of research in Madagascar's bamboo forests. Over the same years, Exo Terra's research team has led by Emmanuel Van Heygenogrant to document the species found in this micro environment and its microclimatological properties.

The team also noted that many of the reptiles, especially Daggeckos, "milked" insects to get food. These special insects secrete a certain amount of sugar -containing, nutritious secretion extracted from bamboo leaves and stems. Exo Terra Day Gecko Food can be placed in a special cavity in one of the bamboo ponds in the input bamboo decoration to mimic this.

The special bamboo decoration guarantees that reptiles and amphibians living here have safe hiding places, an feeding station and water constantly available in the multiple cavities of this very special decoration. The soft surface of the both bamboo base and the decoration provides the perfect vertical accommodation for a number of different species, especially gecko and frogs, just like in nature.
